Gear Hub: TSL Symbioz Hyperflex Adjust Snowshoes

As I cheered to the mountain landscape in front of me to commemorate my latest snowshoe trek, I took a moment to slowly inhale the crispy cool Colorado air and rest my eyes. There’s nothing quite like the complete silence vibrating off fresh powder that one experiences deep in nature and its unparalleled piece.

Snowshoeing is an epic and rewarding way to explore Colorado’s mountain terrain in the winter and spring months. It offers undisturbed access to the mountains and quintessential time in nature. As one of the fastest growing winter sports, I’ve learned it’s essential your gear can keep up with the adventures.

For the past two months, I’ve diligently been testing the TSL Symbioz Hyperflex Adjust and must report my snowshoe experience wouldn’t be complete without this specific pair.

TSL is a French maker of arguably the most innovative, research-driven snowshoes on the market. The brand is based in the French Alps — its team designs, tests and manufactures their snowshoes literally right where they’re intended to be used.

If you’re going to hear the squeaky crunch of snowshoe on snow for hours, you might as well love and trust the pair you’re sporting. The TSL Symbioz Hyperflex Adjust snowshoes bend and contort to match the terrain, offering great traction on mixed snow conditions. The bindings have a padded comfort strap that allows you to step in and out with ease. The intuitive design and impressive performance of these snowshoes will make you never want to go back to your cheap rentals again.

Snowshoeing is beginning friendly and low impact while still being physically stimulating. It’s important to have a lightweight, elastic shoe, and TSL delivers with its priority on freedom of movement. The hyper-flexible snowshoe handles technical trails as well as casual strolls, making it a smart investment for whatever level you’re at as it grows with you.

The frame has carbon inserted in key areas to assure torsional rigidity and proper shock attenuation. The binding boasts universal compatibility with any boot, sealing its status as convenient and reliable. Bi-directional crampons place stainless steel teeth to give traction on the uphill, downhill and inclines. There’s little about these snowshoes that I don’t admire.

At a $299.90 price tag, it’s clear these are a luxury pair of snowshoes. While I’m still relatively new to the sport, I’ve worn various types of snowshoes on different Colorado snow hikes and can confirm the TSL Symbioz Hyperflex Adjust truly stand-out. The comfort, flexibility and durability are unmatched — it’s well worth the investment.
