Gear Hub: RovR Wheeled Cooler

Cooler season is coming soon in Colorado. Warm days are perfect for camping and picnics, without having to worry about how to haul all your food and drink from the car to the campground. Colorado-based RovR makes an all-terrain, tow-ready (with a bike-specific tow attachment available), carry-all cooler so you only have to take one trip.

We tested the 60-quart cooler at local concerts and barbecues. We found the hefty wheels designed to able to handle almost anything in their way (nine-inch all-terrain rubber tires with interchangeable tube, aluminum hubs with two sealed bearings).

RovR built these products with quality and stability in mind, and an array of accessories makes it easy to specialize your RovR to your needs. The RollR 60 Storage Bins ($40) are an add-on that sit on top of the cooler and are built to take abuse and carry both light and heavy loads, built reinforced UV canvas and riveted nylon carrying straps. A prepping board ($39.99) and cup holders ($24.99) can also be added to your cooler for cooking prep and chilling out. Chop stuff up without restricting access to what’s inside the cooler, and secure two drinks, without blocking you from opening or closing the lid.

Not only are these “certified grizzly bear resistant,” the RovR coolers can hold up to 10 days of ice retention depending on use.

If you have a smaller car, we recommend getting the smaller cooler (45 quart). The shape can be odd to fit into certain spaces and to carry, but that’s why its wheels and hauling are the best options for use.

RovR Wheeled Coolers start at $399
