Made famous in the 1980’s Coors Classic and later in the cycling movie American Flyers, this bike tour takes participants along the legendary twists and turns of the red rock canyons and the Colorado National Monument. Enjoy panoramic views throughout while pedaling the 41-mile or the 64-mile loop and end the course in downtown Grand Junction.

Then, make your way over to Colorado Mountain Winefest (with a separate ticket), located a few blocks away at Riverbend Park.

Main Street rumbles with the sound of motors at the 25th Annual Downtown Car Show. This event spans four downtown blocks and includes antique cars, custom cars, Muscle Car Boulevard, Electric Avenue and motorcycles. In honor of the 25th anniversary, enter a car for only $25 and enjoy several awards! This event is free to attend.

The Cougar Ridge Classic returns, offering two scenic point-to-point trail races from Vail Mountain to Minturn during peak fall colors. The challenging 26K begins at 7 a.m. in Vail Village and climbs nearly 3,500 feet to Eagle’s Nest before descending through Game Creek Bowl and Cougar Ridge into downtown Minturn.

New for 2026 season, the Cougar Cub 14K starts at 9 a.m. from Eagle’s Nest and follows the second half of the classic course to Minturn. Both races finish with an after-party, awards and raffle in the Town of Minturn. Spots are limited, so register early and save!

Part biography, part how-to, Bill Zeedyk, known as water wizard, and his allies illustrate a proven toolbox of simple low-tech, low-cost methods to restore degraded lands. They work with Mother Nature, rather than against her, to gird against the extremes of drought and flood while fostering climate resiliency. Enjoy the screening of Episode 1: Willing to Try Things. Following the film will be a a discussion with the filmmaker Renea Roberts, and Jake Kurzweil, hydrologist with the Mountain Studies Institute & Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership.

The Nature Connection hosts this 26.2-mile point-to-point trail marathon during peak fall foliage to raise funds for summer camp scholarships. The race begins at Crawford State Park, winding through scenic farms and ranches near Needle Rock. Runners then ascend into Gunnison National Forest, navigating aspen-lined slopes of Mt. Lamborn. After summiting Inter-Ocean Pass, the course descends past Lone Cabin Reservoir and into Paonia.

Celebrate the final harvest of the season with Alex Seidel, guest chef, James Beard Award winner and owner of Mercantile in Denver Union Station. The evening also features wine tastings from Ordinary Fellow Winery. Tickets are $175 per person and include five wine tastings, with the option to purchase additional glasses or bottles afterward.
