The Cougar Ridge Classic returns, offering two scenic point-to-point trail races from Vail Mountain to Minturn during peak fall colors. The challenging 26K begins at 7 a.m. in Vail Village and climbs nearly 3,500 feet to Eagle’s Nest before descending through Game Creek Bowl and Cougar Ridge into downtown Minturn.

New for 2026 season, the Cougar Cub 14K starts at 9 a.m. from Eagle’s Nest and follows the second half of the classic course to Minturn. Both races finish with an after-party, awards and raffle in the Town of Minturn. Spots are limited, so register early and save!
