Gear Hub: Kitsbow Icon Shirt

We’ve already seen snow in Western Colorado this fall, but there’s still plenty of time to get on your mountain bike and hit some sun-baked dirt trails before the new year. Then before you know it, the spring thaw will bring us back on our bikes again. The Kitsbow Icon Shirt is ideal for those cooler temperature days in the shoulder seasons of Colorado. The collaboration of classic Pendleton Wool plaid paired with the fit details from Kitsbow make this a staple for days when weather is variable and for evenings when the sun goes down.

I love how I can wear this flannel shirt jacket when I’m mountain biking and I can keep it on when the ride rolls straight into social time in town. It’s warm and durable with plenty of technical features, yet mountain-classy and a more tailored fit than traditional flannels. The articulated shoulder vents, stretch gussets, subtle reflective hits, cuff openings and abrasion panels give this hand-sewn piece all the tech it needs to be simultaneously trail-ready and stylish.

I wore the Icon Shirt on some epic fall rides in Crested Butte this year and I appreciate most how it functions so well as a technical piece while still offering that comfort of a go-to flannel. There isn’t anything I’d change about this shirt, and I can already tell it’s one that’s made to last.

The Kitsbow Icon Shirt is $220. Check it out at kitsbow.com.
