We are between seasons here in the mountains, known as “mud season.” It can feel like a winter morning and a summer afternoon in the course of a day.

My winter running gear is overkill and my summer clothing has me shivering for the majority of my run. Choosing how to cover my hands has been a challenge over the past month until I recently tested the WindLab GORE-TEX Infinium Stretch Glove from Mountain Hardwear.

The WindLab GORE-TEX Infinium Stretch Glove have been the perfect glove for this transition time in the mountains. The three-layer GORE-TEX Infinium fabric makes them windproof, helping with the morning chill. It also is breathable, keeping my hand temperature regulated throughout my exercise.

My circulation is poor and on cold mornings I lose dexterity quickly. The single seam design, along with the snug stretch fit, allows my stiff hands a free range of motion to blow the whistle and use the stopwatch during interval training. They have a great stretch fit that can be layered over for extra warmth.

These would be the perfect gloves for many activities if the tech fingers worked. They do not seem to be compatible with my iPhone screen. Besides that, they have become my favorite thin layer adventure glove.
