Love Your Skin
The harsh summer sun of western Colorado sure takes a toll on your skin. In an effort to stick with products made of ingredients that we can pronounce, we’ve gathered some of our favorite locally-made, all-natural skincare products to help keep your skin looking radiant!
The Magic Muscle Stick from Halfpint Naturals (above) provides relief from those achy muscles and joints after this morning’s Serpent’s Trail run ($19.95). The Get Sleep Sleep Serum is their best selling product- simply rub on the bottoms of your feet and fall into a deep slumber ($13.95). We keep the Headache Buster Migraine Relief around the office for those long days and find it works for all kinds of headaches- migraine, hormonal and even dehydration ($15.95). Can be found at www.halfpintnaturals.com and The Farmacy Farms in Palisade.
Vital Flora’s 5-Step facial comes in a cute, hand-dyed drawstring bag. Kit includes a Milk & Honey Exfoliant, an Herbal steam blend, Nourish face serum, and a rose quartz hydrosol mister. Finish it off with the Lip Balm to heal and protect your lips. Available at www.vitalflora.etsy.com. $48
Leaf People produces a staggering number of all-natural skin care products, but we especially love their Melon Seed Oil which is full of Vitamin K ($49) and their Pomegranate Ginkgo Transform serum- a liquid multi-vitamin for your skin that both firms and reduces hyperpigmentation ($36). Men need to take care of their skin too, which is why we love Leaf Man Revive Face Cream, which hydrates, brightens and evens skin tone while fading wrinkles. Available at www.leafpeople.com and at Shape Medical Center in Grand Junction.
Made with coconut oil, shea butter and essential oils, Naked as a Jaybird’s lotion in lavender, cedar, rose or peppermint comes in a stick so it’s easy to apply- anytime, anywhere ($10). Their All natural lip balm in peppermint stays on all day and with a high melting point, should stay firm no matter how hot you get ($4)! Free of chemicals, toxins, and aluminum, their All Natural Deodorant uses baking soda to deodorize while arrowroot powder absorbs moisture ($12). Available at www.nakedasajaybird.net
