Girls Brew Too

Brewing is still very much a man’s world, but an all-female faction of The Bookcliff Home Brew Club aims to change that. Based in Grand Junction, The Bookcliff Home Brewnettes gather for events and trips that cater to varying interest levels in all things related to craft beer and brewing. Their calendar is full of beer-and-food pairings, how-to-brew seminars, group brews, brewery tours guided by owners and brew masters, and educational talks on the science behind it all.

“Mini Cup” competitions will be held at the club’s June, July, and August socials. Members are encouraged to bring their home brews for all to sample, and winners are selected by popular vote. Bragging rights and trophies are at stake.

The group will travel to Durango August 24-26 to attend exclusive brewery tours and to enjoy all the San Juan Beer Festival has to offer. The group welcomes new members. For news about upcoming events and membership in either or both groups, follow them on Facebook (@bcbrewnettes, @bookcliffhomebrewclub) or email bookcliff.brew.club@gmail.com.
